PMS and PMDD

As a women's herbalist, I've seen too many cases where women are being let down by traditional medicine when it comes to dealing with premenstrual symptoms. That's why I'm here to offer you some natural alternatives that actually work!

Now, let's get one thing straight - PMS (Premenstrual Syndrome) is a real thing, and it sucks. But have you heard of PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder)? It's like PMS on steroids! PMDD can cause severe mood swings, anxiety, and even depression. If you're one of the unlucky ladies who suffer from PMDD, you know exactly what I'm talking about.

So, what can you do to combat these pesky symptoms? Well, I'm here to tell you that there are natural remedies that can help ease your discomfort. Three of my go-to solutions are iodine, ashwagandha, and vitex.

First up, iodine. Did you know that iodine deficiency can contribute to PMS symptoms? By simply supplementing with iodine, you may be able to alleviate some of your symptoms. Iodine helps regulate estrogen levels, which can help combat bloating and breast tenderness. Plus, it's great for your overall health, so it's a win-win!

Next on the list is ashwagandha. This powerful adaptogen has been used for centuries to help combat stress and anxiety. And let's be real, ladies - stress is a major contributor to PMS symptoms. By incorporating ashwagandha into your daily routine, you may be able to reduce your stress levels and alleviate some of your symptoms. Plus, it's a natural mood-booster - what's not to love?

Last but certainly not least, we have vitex. This herb has been used for centuries to help regulate hormones and alleviate PMS symptoms. Vitex helps balance out your hormones, which can help reduce mood swings and irritability. Plus, it's great for your reproductive system overall! I have written more about vitex here.

So there you have it, ladies - three natural remedies to help ease your PMS and PMDD symptoms. As always, be sure to do your own research before starting any new supplement regimen, especially if you are currently taking any medication. But don't be afraid to take matters into your own hands - you are your own best health advocate, and these natural remedies might just be the solution you've been looking for!
